Royal Institute of Geopolitics and Diplomacy

(Diplomatic Academy)

The Royal Institute of Geopolitics and Diplomacy serves as the in-house Diplomatic Academy of Ignita Veritas University. ā€œGeopoliticsā€ is the academic study and professional analysis of geographic considerations of politics in international relations, specifically as applied to the principle of national sovereignty and the formulation of foreign policy, in the context of geography and world history. Academic studies of geopolitics with a concentration on human rights are considered to be the essential framework for all international relations and diplomatic affairs.

Studies under this faculty can result in a full range of graduate and post-graduate degrees in Political Science, International Relations and Diplomatic Affairs, including:

  • Bachelor of Science (Baccalaureus Scientiae) B.S.
  • Master of Science (Magister Scientiae) M.S.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Philosophiae Doctor) Ph.D.
  • Professorship Doctorate (Professor Doctor) Prof.D.

Graduates of Diplomacy degree programs generally have careers in foreign policy, foreign relations, inter-governmental cooperation, international law enforcement cooperation, multinational civil society organizations, and human rights. They often hold employment positions like Director of Government Relations, Foreign Policy Advisor, National Security Analyst, or Ambassadors of national administrations.

Studies under this faculty can also result in traditional degrees in Public Policy for governmental, public sector or civil society organizations, including:

  • Bachelor of Public Policy (B.P.P.)
  • Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.)
  • Doctor of Public Policy (D.P.P.)

Public Policy studies concentrate on socioeconomic and political research and development of policy strategies and programs in the public sector, involving non-profit and non-governmental organizations, local or regional governments and government agencies. Graduates of M.P.P. and D.P.P. degree programs often hold employment positions like Senior Policy Analyst, Director of Research, or Director of Government Relations.

As an official body of an inter-governmental organization (IGO) of statehood in diplomatic relations itself, IV University has a solid foundation to provide deep inside perspectives of real-world geopolitics and human rights, in practical application to international diplomacy and public policy.

The Diplomatic Academy works closely with the official Diplomatic Corps of the Directorate General of IVU as an IGO, allowing international relations scholars to gain experience from leading experts who are actively involved in current geopolitics and world affairs, and giving the governmental and diplomatic functions of IVU the additional support of university capabilities.

For specialization in geopolitics and public policy, this faculty also works in cooperation with the Council on Alternative Policy Studies (CAPS), as the geopolitical research institute and ā€œThink Tankā€ developing public policy, under the host IGO Ignita Veritas United (IVU).
